PumpSwap Volume (Solana Memecoins)
Live reading
ContextPumpSwap handled $18.1B of volume over the last 30 days against $17.3B in the 30 days before, a change of +5.1%. That clears the 5% threshold, so trading in graduated coins is picking up. This is shown as context and does not vote.
What is PumpSwap?
PumpSwap is pump.fun’s own exchange. A new token first trades on a bonding curve, and if enough people buy it, it graduates onto PumpSwap and trades there like any other pair. So the two venues measure two different moments in a coin’s life: the launch, and everything after it.
That makes this the natural companion to pump.fun activity. Pump.fun fees come from trading on the bonding curve, so they cover coins before they graduate. PumpSwap volume covers the same coins afterwards. Both measure trading; the split is simply which side of graduation it happens on.
It is also the largest single venue on Solana by trading volume, well ahead of the established automated market makers, which is a reasonable measure of how much of that chain’s activity is memecoin speculation rather than anything else.
Why it matters for the bull market
The two readings can point in opposite directions, and that is exactly when they are worth having. Bonding-curve activity rising while PumpSwap volume falls describes a treadmill: plenty of churn in brand new coins, no staying power once they graduate, each one abandoned for the next. Both rising together is a healthier kind of speculation, where coins keep attracting interest after they graduate.
Neither is counted in the verdict. This is one venue on one chain with less than two years of history, and it measures the most speculative corner of the market rather than the market itself. It runs hot late in cycles, in the same way Coinbase app rank does, so read a surge as evidence that risk appetite is already stretched.
How it is used
Context indicator, not counted in the verdict. Rising when the last 30 days of volume run more than 5% above the 30 days before them, cooling when more than 5% below, flat in between.Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between pump.fun and PumpSwap?
Pump.fun is the launchpad where new tokens trade on a bonding curve. PumpSwap is the exchange those tokens move to once they graduate. Pump.fun fees measure trading before graduation; PumpSwap volume measures trading after it.
Why track it separately from Solana DEX volume?
Aggregate chain volume double-counts. Frontends and trading apps route orders into the same exchanges, so one trade can be counted by both the app and the venue behind it. A single protocol has no such ambiguity.
Why does a small change count as flat?
Daily volume swings on weekends and single viral coins, so a month landing 1% either way carries no information. The direction only changes on a move of more than 5%.
Is high memecoin volume bullish?
It shows risk appetite, which tends to accompany bull markets, but it peaks late rather than early. Treat it as a temperature reading, not a buy signal, which is why it is shown as context and never counted.
